_{While the majority of the Loweean thunderheads are gentle giants that have mostly learned to coexist with friendlier people, the styracotops ("spiked face"), a close cousin native to Lastation, has learned along its evolutionary lineage that humans are creatures to stay away from. It is an incredibly hostile behemoth built much faster than its Loweean cousins, with a large bioluminiscent horn used for territorial displays, attracting mates, and generally as a giant glowing lance. It's widely accepted that these giants may have opted to lose the bright crystals that the thunderheads still possess to this day, perhaps due to the higher number of cases of poaching and hunting in Lastation's history.

While it usually eats vegetation, the styracotops has also been known to eat meat on occasion, including [and especially] that of humans'. This omnivorous behavior has led others to speculate whether the thunderheads may also eat meat, since despite their physical differences both species still retained the same dental structure. As mentioned before, they are very hostile towards humans, and will most often go into a rage if they ever meet one in an effort to kill it, possibly for their innate hatred for humans or for consumption.

While it usually walks on all fours, the styracotops can stand and/or run on its hind legs if desired, whether it is for pursuit or for combat. Its much longer tail helps it balance its weight whenever it walks in a bipedal fashion. This may have developed from its ancestors' habit of constantly reaching for higher spots on tall vegetation that it finds. Like the thunderhead, it can arrange its dorsal plates from head to tail in a manner that allows it to safely transmit stress along its spine when fighting with its cranial horn.

Due to their violent nature, there are far less styracotops in the wild than there are thunderheads since they are routinely hunted down. However, since they are a keystone species and also keep larger predators away, their numbers are also strictly controlled in regions where they are found.}
